All About Alyssa
It's no secret that I love sports; but what I love even more are the stories that I uncover of the athletes who are so often hidden behind their statistics and highlights.
Whether it's in front of the camera or behind the lens, my passion is telling a unique, compelling, and attention-grabbing story through broadcast journalism.
I do it all...I shoot, log, edit, write, produce, report and anchor all my own content.
Throughout my college career at The University of Iowa, I have had a wide array of experience in the TV industry. From covering the 2013 Iowa football team at Kinnick Stadium, to reporting at Carver-Hawkeye Arena for the basketball and volleyball teams, I am able to transfer my skills no matter the assignment. Attending a Big Ten university has advanced my knowledge of sports journalism, and has provided me with countless opportunties in and outside of Iowa City.
When back home in Chicago, I take full advantage of the city that first made me fall in love with sports. I interned at Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Fox Sports News, and Clear Channel Media & Entertainement (ESPN Deportes). Although each vastly differ, each internship gave me the real-world experience in a top-ranked TV market.
These experiences, along with many more, are the reasons I am so passionate about pursuing a career in sports broadcasting. The thrill of the game and the drive of the players is what keeps me motivated day after day. Baseball is a game that does not run on a clock, and just like baseball, my dedication towards this industry will not run out anytime soon.
